This is from QTV in Canada, and a new interview w/actor Billy Bob Thornton and the other members of the group The Boxmasters. The DJ, Jian Ghomeshi does an outstanding job; his professionalism alone make this textbook material for how to stay cool in the face of terrible interview conditions. A stunning ordeal as Billy Bob throws almost every unpleasant curveball possible, and this DJ holds on. Insane. If you do not cringe at the awkwardness of this, you’re sleeping.

    This reminds me of the recent Joaquin Phoenix guest appearance on David Letterman. Perhaps Billy-Bob and Joaquin went to the same school of how to act when being interviewed?

    That was comical – I think. Is this what bbt does when he’s pissed off? Hard to ‘get it’ without knowing what else went on before they sat down there. I think maybe something else happened prior – would make more sense that way.

    If bbt has a reasonable gripe at the guy then it was a masterful.

    If he’s just acting the ass for no particular reason but to further his enigma – then that is what it is.

    Great to see it either way.

    Vern, I think it was a moment of him just being a real asshole, and taking offense to what he saw as the radio guy not having listened to his handler’s instructions regarding his intro. Glad you watched it here and mahalo for also commenting. Aloha.

    Vern, whether BBT had a legit gripe or not, the audience was not a party to anything but the interview and he came off looking and sounding like an ass and the DJ came off sounding like a pro. So, if his intent was to make the DJ look bad for breaking some unseen (by the audience) agreement, it fully backfired.
