Hear my new interview with Queensryche legend Geoff Tate and their new single

Last week on Tuesday the new Queensryche album Dedicated to Chaos dropped, and I was fortunate to speak with singer Geoff Tate. This new interview covers a lot of different topics, and Geoff, if you’re unfamiliar, is a truly articulate, thoughtful guy to speak with. Some of the material discussed includes the new Dedicated to Chaos album, the future of records and touring, the fading record company/publishing/intellectual property commercial model, the late Ronnie James Dio’s importance to both Queensryche and Geoff, experiences here in Hawaii, first hand accounts of being in Iraq to perform for the troops and reflections on their epic, and emotional American Soldier album, Geoff’s passion for wine and winemaking, and much more. It was a pleasure to reconnect with a gentleman whose appearance in 2007 on my afternoon show was a real treat.

Hear this full-length new interview  and their new single Get Started now at HPR in my new release blog, and also listen to the interview in the 2011 interviews player on the front page here.

HEAR KORN – NEW SEPTEMBER CLASSIC INTERVIEW PLAYER ISSUE

In late July I had the pleasure of speaking with Korn’s front man and vocalist, Jonathan Davis. He was soft-spoken, very cool, easy to talk with, and I think you’ll really dig this interview. What a laid back, very nice cat.

You may recall checking out some of this interview via HPR, and the extended interview with Jonathan on-demand in my DL New Releases Blog. What’s cool about this month’s Classic Interview Player is it more than doubles the length of what you’ve heard so far, with a whole bunch more conversation. Nearly twenty minutes now, it’s a meaty feature that also includes lots of the Korn Live The Encounter videos from their historic crop-circle gig. It has a special live in-concert cover that’s relevant considering some of our… shall we say… Floyd-based discussion, too : ). Also check out some cool pics, links, background and more…

Hope you dig it!

It’s a brand new full-length interview you can hear on-demand all month with Korn’s Jonathan Davis, in the Classic Interview Player’s new September issue.

MY FAVORITE NEW SONG: SILVERSUN PICKUPS “PANIC SWITCH”

THIS IS #8 IN THE NEW ROCK PLAYER ON THE SIDEBAR- Top 40 overall rock charts, right now. Unreal vocals, a haunting quality that is nostalgic. Also a sick drum line, savage guitar and other augmentation- there are hooks everywhere in a nasty assault that has tons of emotion, energy, inventive arrangements, and is a pure rock song in every sense. I am simply blown away by this jam, and clearly it’s earning it’s way to the top, currently the #8 most played rock song, of all rock formats that play any new music combined.
