FRIDAY FIREWORKS IN WAIKIKI

I should post these every Friday, but I forget to roll a camera when they start. We’re so lucky the Hilton spends the dough and delivers weekly Friday night fireworks for us in Waikiki. This week I remembered and captured them as them happened! 7:30 sharp, and then the weekend of daylight savings times switch (we don’t observe it here in Hawaii), the fireworks also go to 8pm, I believe. Same switch back to 7:30 in the fall.

Enjoy. Aloha!

NEW NOVEMBER INTERVIEW PODCASTS: DAVE LAWRENCE WITH GUNS N’ ROSES/VELVET REVOLVER’S SLASH & CLASSIC INTERVIEW WITH QUEEN LEGEND BRIAN MAY

Check out two major artists in interview podcasts now in the Dave Report and Classic Interview Player!

SLASH: Brand new interview! Listen now in the DAVE REPORT. Check out the podcast with iconic guitarist/songwriter/performer Slash. This new interview comes as his New York Times Best-Selling List hardcover “Slash” was just released as a paperback; in stores now. Get it At Amazon.

Filled with fun, rapport, great stories and memories, the ex-Guns N Roses and current Velvet Revolver guitarist talks about some of his lifes interesting twists and turns, reflections on his musical path, growing up with a mom who was David Bowie’s costume designer, and much more.  A chance to speak with a guitarist whose work has been a staple on rock radio for decades, with increasing importance, in no small part due to Guitar Hero, and his sense of timelessness.

LISTEN TO IT NOW IN THE DAVE REPORT

I hope you enjoy my second-ever chat with Slash and a conversation that’s a great follow-up to last month’s Gene Simmons interview, plus the recent one with his Guns N Roses/Velvet Revolver bandmate Duff McKagan.

QUEEN’S BRIAN MAY: This month’s feature in the Classic Interview Player. We’re celebrating Queen+Paul Rodgers, their great new CD “The Cosmos Rocks” (out now), and successful world tour with the November issue of the Classic Interview Player. In the fall of 2006, my good friend Carmine Appice released the “Ultimate Guitar Zeus” CD, which included Brian May. Brian was generous and spent time with me on a call from London to promote it. In this interview with one of the founders of the group Queen, we discussed details of the project with Carmine and their long relationship, the recording sessions that made it happen, the new incarnation of Queen with Paul Rodgers, Brian’s fascination with blogging and the internet, astronomy and his book “Bang: The Complete History Of The Universe”, plus much more… With Queen+Paul Rodgers in the news, Brian May seemed perfect for this month’s edition of the Classic Interview Player, which also features some great live videos of Brian and Queen through the years, including from the O2 Arena in London on the latest tour, classic Wembley Stadium performances, and more. I hope you dig it.
