NOVEMBER CLASSIC INTERVIEW PLAYER: HEAR NEW INTERVIEW WITH ROCK HALL 25 CONCERT STAR NILS LOFGREN OF BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND THE E STREET BAND PLUS SEE PHOTOS FROM THE HISTORIC SHOWS AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN

New Classic Interview Player Nov. issue: Dave Lawrence with Nils Lofgren

HEAR PART ONE OF A NEW EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND THE E STREET BAND GUITARIST/ GIFTED SOLO MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST

This month, enjoy a very special November Classic Interview Player issue with a brand new Nils Lofgren interview. I just recorded this two-part conversation you can hear on-demand all month exclusively in the Classic Interview Player. We catch up with this immensely talented performer during the finale lap of the latest E Street Band go-around, which from sound clips of Little Steven and Bruce, appears to be the last for at the very least a few years.

When listening to this two issue special, you’ll hear about Nils special relationship with Bruce Springsteen; also get insight into the workings of one of rock’s most celebrated ensembles, The E Street Band, while getting a first-hand account of his inventive online guitar lessons at the official Nils Lofgren website, solo downloads and much more.

One reason this fresh, new interview is especially relevant to hear coming as Nils Lofgren brings his amazing career through yet another Rock Hall of Fame encounter, this time being part of the two day festivities just days ago Oct.29-30 at Madison Square Garden, where Bruce appeared at both shows, and The E Street Band, led by The Boss, stretched their first night set until 1:30 am, with special guests Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine, John Fogerty of CCR, Sam Moore of Sam And Dave, singer Darlene Love, and finally starting at 1 am, Billy Joel. Bruce returned with U2 and Patti Smith the second night. SEE PHOTOS FROM THE GIGS: Certainly not close-ups by any stretch, I was stoked to be in the house and blasting live to my Twitpic stream, so feel free to jump on-board those images circulating in the slideshow presentation of that feed, or another option… see all the shots we were transmitting during the two shows at my DaveLawrenceOnline Twitpic page. It occurred to me as I watched this historic rock moment, in rock and entertainment’s most historic hall, Madison Square Garden, that the new Classic Interview Player feature is a perfect follow-up to Nils’ participation in what certainly is another highlight in a long professional journey. From his days working as a teenager with Neil Young, his own band Grin, pounding numerous solo releases, touring with Bruce Springsteen in multiple eras of The E Street Band, including now, a prolific series of years where Bruce plied his super E Street Band. This fall, for now, it all comes to an end, and as it does, a remarkable new interview with Nils is here for you to ponder. LISTEN TO PART ONE ALL MONTH.

Also included are special live videos, bringing you the raw essence of how Nils works the audience and material live. It’s Nils through the years both solo and with Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band, showcasing Nils at work live, blazing as a vocalist, guitarist and performer.

Nils Lofgren is a very photogenic artist, and there are cool photos in a slideshow documenting Nils’ career, and look for more videos and photos next month, for the conclusion of this new two-part Classic Interview Player special. I hope you dig it.

CLASSIC INTERVIEW PLAYER FEBRUARY ISSUE: DAVE LAWRENCE WITH LYNYRD SKYNYRD / OUTLAWS LEGEND HUGHIE THOMASSON

WE PAY TRIBUTE TO THE LEGACY OF LYNYRD SKYNYRD WITH THIS DAVE LAWRENCE CLASSIC INTERVIEW PODCAST YOU CAN LISTEN TO ON-DEMAND ALL MONTH LONG IN THE FEBRUARY ISSUE.

Last month we wrapped up a two-part feature honoring the memory of Jimi Hendrix Experience drummer Mitch Mitchell, who died suddenly last fall, with a two month interview flashback featuring fellow bandmate Billy Cox. Now that theme sadly continues.

Lynyrd Skynyrd original member keyboardist Billy Powell has suddenly passed away, and it made me think we could celebrate his life with a CLASSIC INTERVIEW PLAYER feature starring another Lynyrd Skynyrd legend who has himself passed away. Hughie Thomasson was not only in Skynyrd, but also The Outlaws. The interview is from a spring 2003 time I got to speak with Hughie as Skynyrd were doing the Vicious Cycle era. Unfortunately, Hughie passed away in 2007.

To pay tribute to the monster keyboardist Billy Powell of Skynyrd who has now died, we have a very special February issue: in addition to the interview, over a dozen incredible, enjoy live, blistering, mind-numbing videos spanning the entire Lynyrd Skynyrd timeline, with Billy Powell through the years at his best in concert and raging, and, burning simply ferocious Outlaws performances, as well. Also, a Hughie Thomasson slideshow, interview background / context details, links, & more.

Join me all month long for the February issue of the CLASSIC INTERVIEW PLAYER with late Lynyrd Skynyrd / Outlaws guitarist and vocalist Hughie Thomasson.
