Spoke with Geoff yesterday as his new Queensryche record dropped — Dedicated to Chaos — out and in-stores now.
Listen for the interview soon — I’ll post a link here in the blog when it’s up for you to hear. We covered everything from this record, to topics like concept albums, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, his passion for wine-making, the future of albums and touring as it relates to technology, and much more.
Hear the new song “Get Started” —
Recorded a nice follow-up interview with Airrion Love tonight. Great guy, and fun show at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.
Getting out of jail early and making the news with his legal debacles, it seemed fair to throw Vince a solid, and break out some good times in his honor. No pun intended.
We celebrate with this fun gem from 2007 with Vince and I having laughs, enjoying memories, and bonding over the rock we all love.
Enjoy ten live videos, too, showing the Crue in action around the world laying down the rock as only they can, with Brother Vince up front and in charge. Plus a dy-no-mite photo slide show that takes you through the years.
It’s a Crue Classic Interview Player!!! With Motley Crue’s Vince Neil & I — listen on-demand all month.
Vodpod videos no longer available.
This is an extended interview segment carved out of a much longer new conversation with legendary Dead Kennedys founder, guitarist East Bay Ray.
It’s an honor to speak with Ray; he was a huge hit in my life of interviews, getting to pow wow with The Dead Kennedys founder, hear the deal on Jello Biafra “skimming” band money, forcing a court case with a judge ordering him to pay the band back seventy grand. Get the fascinating inside details on that, the meaningful naming of the group, and more…
Get into The Dead Kennedys live in concert tonight at The Loft in Honolulu. Underworldevents.com for info. Also hear a tasty DK classic below.
Hear the new interview with Daughtry right here in the blog. He’s Oct. 1 at Kaka`ako Waterfront Park in Honolulu; click that link for tickets.
Have you heard the new song he did with Santana on the just released “Guitar Heaven” CD, their cover of Def Leppard’s “Photograph”? Hear it below, plus see the artwork.
Listen for a new interview with Tower Of Power’s leader / tenor sax monster / founder Emilio Castillo. I recorded it today and will be featuring it next week during the afternoon on http://hawaiipublicradio.org – KHPR, during NPR’s All Things Considered. We had a long conversation, nearly a half-hour, covering TOP’s extensive island history, his own personal connections with Hawaii, the international phenomenon of their continued success, touching stories of promoter/rock legend Bill Graham, and much more.Just the Bill Graham stories alone make this a special conversation, and I look forward to presenting some of it next week and posting an extended interview segment 0n my Dave Lawrence Reports page at HPR. Catch Tower Of Power June 3 in Honolulu and click here to get Blaisdell Concert Hall tickets, and for the Valley Isle, June 4 on Maui, click here for the MACC in Kahului.
Carmine’s baby brother with the different pronunciation, Bruddah Vinny as his Hawaii fans affectionately know him, returns to the fold with a fresh DL interview. He’ll be camming in from the East Coast and joining me for the daily rock news and video report I do on the Shovio Network, DLTV On Shovio, Mon-Thurs. 10p EST/7p PST/4p HST. This Monday March 22 we get the 411 on Ronnie James Dio’s cancer, Tony Iommi’s hand surgery, Vinny’s shoulder surgery, and Geezer Butler ducking and hoping no medical drama reaches the famed NIB introing Terrance.
All that and more as Bruddah Vinny – the powerful drums behind Black Sabbath’s epic “Mob Rules” album… their 1982 tasty 2LP live set “Live Evil”… Dio’s “Holy Diver” and “The Last In Line” opuses… some righteous drumming for sure. We’re proud to welcome him to DLTV On Shovio- hope you can make it, too.
As if one great drummer wasn’t enough, catch Shinedown’s Barry Kerch as my special guest Thursday to end our week of fun… Shinedown have had a string of successful recent hits — “Second Chance”, “If You Only Knew”, and “Sound Of Madness”… They gigged in Honolulu recently — see more pics from it further in the blog — and we had a fantastic sit-down over at the hotel, chillaxing lol… Seriously, a special chat, and some of this cool new video interview is being featured to wrap up our week this coming Thursday March 25.
This is a chance to touch base with a monster talent in one of rock’s most popular contemporary acts. Shinedown came through Honolulu and rocked Pipeline Cafe. We got to spend time with them at the hotel and the gig, and in addition to recording a long-form interview for Hawaii Public Radio, I scored a companion video of it, hence, our cool new video interview with Shinedown you’ll be enjoying a taste of this Thursday March 25 as we do our Friday Fiesta a day early, as usual, for DLTV On Shovio.
