Check out a slideshow and fun new ID from the Sublime With Rome interview, airing tomorrow

We had a lot of fun speaking yesterday afternoon before their big outdoor show at Kaka`ako Waterfront Park in Honolulu, and the Point Panic Music Festival.

Here are some photos from the interview and a fun ID he did. Listen for a feature airing tomorrow on HPR and the whole interview getting published online.

Hear my new interview with Queensryche legend Geoff Tate and their new single

Last week on Tuesday the new Queensryche album Dedicated to Chaos dropped, and I was fortunate to speak with singer Geoff Tate. This new interview covers a lot of different topics, and Geoff, if you’re unfamiliar, is a truly articulate, thoughtful guy to speak with. Some of the material discussed includes the new Dedicated to Chaos album, the future of records and touring, the fading record company/publishing/intellectual property commercial model, the late Ronnie James Dio’s importance to both Queensryche and Geoff, experiences here in Hawaii, first hand accounts of being in Iraq to perform for the troops and reflections on their epic, and emotional American Soldier album, Geoff’s passion for wine and winemaking, and much more. It was a pleasure to reconnect with a gentleman whose appearance in 2007 on my afternoon show was a real treat.

Hear this full-length new interview  and their new single Get Started now at HPR in my new release blog, and also listen to the interview in the 2011 interviews player on the front page here.

Recorded a new interview w/Queensryche’s Geoff Tate; hear an ID and the new song!

Spoke with Geoff yesterday as his new Queensryche record dropped — Dedicated to Chaos — out and in-stores now.

Listen for the interview soon — I’ll post a link here in the blog when it’s up for you to hear. We covered everything from this record, to topics like concept albums, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, his passion for wine-making, the future of albums and touring as it relates to technology, and much more.

Hear the April Classic Interview Player issue w/my guest BB King!

What an incredible celebration as the King rolls through Hawaii for his first time since 2002.

Relive this moment in time, with a rarely heard segment from our lengthy backstage session that fateful night in November 2002 when BB King played the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, and was my guest for the second of two interviews that month.

For nearly a half hour, BB and I shared rock stories and memories. It was the follow-up to a phoner to promote the show, and a small portion of sound clips was used through the years. Once, a long-form extract based on those same sound clips was presented. It was nearly half of the material recorded that evening. Now, for the first time in over five years, hear that long-form extract, as heard previously on a single broadcast. It’s a fitting way for our April Classic Interview Player issue to honor BB as he returns to the Blaisdell April 27 in Honolulu.

Accompanying the interview, see a cool through the years slide show, including vintage BB pics from his early years that aren’t often seen.

Perhaps best of all, catch 10 live videos, featuring not only fun and classic BB TV appearances, but also BB sharing the stage with Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan, Buddy Guy, Ray Charles, Little Richard, Billy Preston, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, James Brown, U2, and many others. It’s a video tribute well-worth digging into.

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by. Be sure to add me on Facebook. Mahalo.
